Waiting for food selfies

Gathered the ingredients for a family favorite, bust in the front door after work and get down to business with the trio, the soffritto, the mirepoix, the holy trinity of flavor…whatever you want to call it, delicious.

Timing is everything,

in the food selfie trade and this punch line is way too late!  I can tell you this pasta dish was very good!  A red sauce with diced carrots, celery, onion, and some italian parsley mixed with ground beef and pork.  Chopped olives added, Parmigiano-Reggiano grated on right before serving with a glass of Columbia Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon alongside.http://www.columbiawinery.com/  Maybe the Cab tasted so good it clouded my mind and made me forget to get the perfect food selfie before I devoured this dish.  The bread was outstanding, made locally that day, btw…

My food selfies,

tend to be awkwardly timed.  Either I’m cooking or eating, often forgetting to image my meal when it’s ready, or in this case, before it’s even imagined.  Having added the Silver Spoon cookbook (Il cucchiaio d’argento) to my library I’m hoping to have many new opportunities to mess up another food selfie.silver_spoon_selfie
